Our History

I got into leather work completely by accident.  Up until 2014 I wouldn't have known what a saddle stitch was and as for a seam well that's where coal came from wasn't it?

Then at one of the country shows I trade at (my other life as a landscape and wildlife photographer) I saw someone making a leather knife sheath and I thought "that's cool", "bet I could do that".  So began the journey to where I am today.

Learning about edge bevelling, saddle stitching and generally covering everything in leather dye (everything but the leather in some cases).

​

Since last year I have been selling the odd leather product from my photography stall at Tynemouth and Alnwick Markets, now though after some encouragement I will be running RBK Leather Crafts along side my photography business.

​

Every item I make is truly hand made, I hand cut the leather, it is then hand dyed, hand tooled, hand stitched and then finished by my hands.
